- new baby
- broken thumb
- general laziness
- trying to understand the appeal of the music of Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers
So I'll be back with new songs starting tomorrow.
My daughter Olivia is crazy for music. She loves all of her musical toys. She wears them out and the songs get stuck in my head. Her favorite singer is her Gymboree music class teacher Sean. But when we drive around and I have music on, I see her bobbing her head or tapping her little foot.
I love music and I want to give Olivia a gift of the music I love. When this project is over, two years from now, she'll still be too young to appreciate it, but down the road when she is discovering her own music and making fun of me listening to the oldies channel (or Classic Rock as I like to call it) she will be able to see that I was once passionate about music when I was younger and cooler.
The seed for this is the new Rosanne Cash album "The List" which as the story goes, her father Johnny Cash gave her a list of 100 country songs that he felt she needed to know. She recorded several of them for her album. My list is not in any particular order, so song #100 Welcome to the Jungle is no more or less relevant to song #37 whatever that may be.
loooool!
